The San Antonio Rampage was an AHL hockey team that was owned by the NBA's San Antonio Spurs. The club that landed in the 'Alamo City' in 2002 first started as the Tidewater Wings in 1971. The team changed its name when it moved to Norfolk the following year. As the Virginia Wings, the squad stayed in Norfolk for three years until transforming once again into the Adirondack Red Wings. This time, the franchise played the next twenty seasons in Glen Falls, NY until it relocated to Texas in 2002. During the inaugural season for the Pacific Division in 2014-15, the Rampage won the division, but was swept by OKC in three.
