Finntroll is a folk metal band from Helsinki, Finland that was founded in 1997. Blending a distinctive black metal style with traditional Scandinavian folk influences, Finntroll makes a unique style of music that is well suited for Northern Europe's multifaceted music scene. Telling folk tales in its lyrics, the band's songs typically deal with legends surrounding a mythical "troll-king" as he and his army battle Christian settlers who enter lands to spread their beliefs.
