Rudresh Mahanthappa

Rudresh Mahanthappa is a modern jazz musician and composer from Trieste, Italy. After graduating from Berklee College of Music in the early 1990s, he relocated to New York and quickly nestled into the city's rich jazz scene. He began earning widespread attention with the release of his 2002 album, Black Water, and has since been heralded as the Alto Saxophonist of the Year by the Jazz Journalists Association for three consecutive years, starting in 2009.
