Royal Hanneford Circus is a traveling family circus based in the US that has origins dating back to as far as 1690, when Michael Hanneford entertained royalty with acrobatics and juggling. Often referred to as the oldest circus in the world, the Hanneford family began performing as touring troupe in 1807 before creating its own circus called Hanneford Royal Canadian Circus, in 1903. The company adopted its modern name in the mid 1960s and has since continued to uphold the traditions of classic circus fare, such as clowning, juggling, acrobatics and bareback riding.
