Rod Quantock

Rodney Edward Quantock, known professionally as Rod Quantock, is an Australian writer and stand-up comedian. Born in Coburg - a suburb of Melbourne - he studied architecture at the University of Melbourne, where he developed an interest in revue. He broke onto the theater scene in the early 1970s and is largely credit for the revival of Australian theater. Around the same time, he transitioned into the television industry, appearing on the shows Australia You're Standing In It, Fast Forward, Denton and BackBerner, just to name a few. Over the course of his career, he has also performed at the likes of Melbourne Comedy Festival and Edinburgh Festival. He has been awarded the Order of Australia Medal, an Australia Council Theatre Board Fellowship and The Individual Award at the Sydney Myer Performing Arts Awards.
