Rockford Icehogs

The Rockford Icehogs come from the Illinois city with the same name and they have been playing in the AHL since 2007. The franchise originally began as the Baltimore Bandits in 1995, but it only lasted two years in the Maryland city. In 1997 the squad moved to Cincinnati as the Mighty Ducks, but subsequently folded due to a lack of fan interest after seven years. The Icehogs then were purchased anew with a different owner and moved to Rockford. The franchise has acted as an affiliate team for several organizations in the NHL including the Detroit Red Wings, the Anaheim Mighty Ducks and the Chicago Blackhawks since their Illinois move. The team competes in the AHL's Western Conference and plays at the BMO Harris Bank Center.
