The Roanoke Symphony Orchestra is a Roanoke, Virginia-based symphony orchestra that was founded in 1953 by Gibson Morrissey who served as conductor since the orchestra's inception until his death in 1975. Frequently performing at its homebase at the Salem Civic Center just outside of Roanoke in Salem, Virginia the Orchestra also occasionally tours to other local regions throughout the American South and Northeast.
