Peter Lemongello

Peter Lemongello is a pop singer from New Jersey who is best known for his double album Love '76. After spending several years as a cabaret singer, he came up with the idea to sell an album exclusively through television commercials. He subsequently became the first person to sell a million records through a television marketing campaign while simultaneously and quickly rising to fame in the US through widespread media attention. After a year of self promotion, Lemongello ended his campaign and released a second album, Do I Love You, in 1977. He has since shifted his attention to live performances and continues to perform classics from The Great American Songbook across the nation.
