Pat Martino

Pat Martino is a jazz musician and composer from Philadelphia, Pennsylvania who began his professional career in music after moving to New York City at the age of 15. As session musician, he spent his early years recording with artists such as Willis Jackson and Eric Kloss before developing a reputation as an ardent sideman and proficient leader of his own outfit, the Pat Martino Trio. Martino released his eponymous debut album as bandleader in 1966 with Vanguard records, and has since built an extensive discography of post bop and hard bop music.
