The Oakland East Bay Symphony Orchestra (OEBS) is a highly-respected symphony orchestra based in Oakland, California that is one of the few leading orchestras in the US that focuses on showcasing the works of contemporary composers. Unlike other orchestras that typically program contemporary music sparingly compared to works already established in the classical repertoire, the OEBS takes the opposite approach, and was awarded first place by ASCAP for "Adventurous Programming of Contemporary Music" as a result. Led by renowned music director Michael Morgan, the OEBS continues to be Oakland and the East Bay's mecca for musical culture.
