Perry Smith and John Storie, co-founders of the trio, have been making music together since their days as students at U.S.C. They recently welcomed Jeff Stein into the fold, forming a unique musical ensemble. Their style can be best described as "Textures," blending elements of jazz, folk, country, rock, and classical music. The trio's musicianship shines through in both their compositions and performances, with percussion provided by rhythm guitars and elegant acoustic melodies that evolve and drive the tempo. Solos, whether individual or harmonized, captivate with their intricacy, resembling mini compositions within the songs. The diverse sounds of the guitars, from acoustic to jangly Fender tones, add depth to the music, especially when harmonized. Melody takes center stage in their compositions, evident in tracks like "Crooked Railroad," where bubbling electric guitars intertwine over an acoustic backdrop, culminating in jazz-inspired solos that elevate the overall experience.
