The Mynabirds

Fronted by singer/songwriter Lauran Burhenn The Mynabirds is a Omaha-based collection of musicians that was formed in 2009. The band released its debut album What We Lose In the Fire We Gain In the Flood, to acclaim in 2010 and supported the record with a year-long tour with Bright Eyes, David Bazan and Crooken Fingers. Burhenn spend 2011 touring as a member of Bright Eyes' touring band before returning to the studio with the Mynabirds to record its sophomore effort Generals. With a rock and roll attitude powered by garage rock guitar, the 2012 album is a politically-driven departure from the bluesy/country feel of the band's first record.
