The Kansas City Mavericks are a professional ice hockey team that competes in the Mountain Division of the ECHL's Western Conference. Founded in 2009, the Mavericks play home matches at the Silverstein Eye Centers Arena in Independence, Missouri. A proving ground for many up and coming players, the Mavericks is an affiliate team of the New York Islanders and the Bridgeport Sound Tigers.
