Minnie Dee is a dynamic artist whose music blends infectious party grooves with empowering messages, vibrant theatrics, and soulful vocals. Inspired by iconic figures like Josephine Baker, Nina Simone, and Lady Gaga, Minnie infuses her performances with energy and positivity. Originally a ballet dancer with the Dance Theatre of Harlem, she transitioned to singing after touring extensively. Joining the band "Mike Sandwich" as a backup vocalist sparked her songwriting journey. Her debut album, "Time to Shine," produced by Riley McMahon, features hit singles like "Believe" and "Gonna Walk Away," which have been featured in various media. Minnie's commitment to social justice is evident in her performances, including singing the "National Anthem" at the NYC Gay Pride March and performing her single "When the Funk Was All We Had" at WABC's live telecast of the 2017 Pride March. She continues to advocate for LGBTQ rights and other civil rights causes.
