Since legendary jazz drummer Charles Mingus' death in 1979, the Mingus Big Band has kept Mingus' inimitable spirit alive. Keeping various residencies through out New York's most prestigious jazz clubs, the Mingus Big Band plays to countless jazz fanatics through out the year. Managed by Charles' widow Sue, the band is held by her loving glue, making the group much more than a cover band and more of a living example of Mingus' musical genius.
