Mindy Smith is a singer/songwriter from Long Island, New York who blends a varied amount of genres including folk, bluegrass, rock and country into a cohesive and surprisingly listenable whole. Adopted by a pastor and his wife at a young age, Smith grew up on Long Island, where she developed a strong affinity towards music. Smith later moved to Nashville, Tennessee to pursue a career in music and was soon noticed by Vanguard Records who asked Smith to contribute to the Dolly Parton tribute album, Just Because I'm a Woman. After continuing to gain momentum with her career, Smith was later signed by Vanguard and was able to record and release her well-received 2004 LP, One Moment More.
