Michael W. Smith is a Grammy winning American singer/songwriter and actor from West Virginia. Despite being a contemporary Christian musician, he has managed to attain a decent amount of success in the mainstream music world by winning three Grammys in addition to selling more than 13 million albums. Starting his career in 1983, with the release of his debut LP The Michael W. Smith Project, Smith has grown into one of the more recognizable faces and voices of the modern Christian music community.
