Melechesh

Melechesh is a black metal band comprised of ethnic Assyrians and Armenians that was formed in Jerusalem before ultimately relocating to Amsterdam. Founded in 1993, the band's goal was to great hard-hitting black metal music that incorporated lyrics centering around Middle Eastern occult themes. The group released its debut album, As Jerusalem Burns...Al'lntisar, in 1996 and has since continued to keep a fairly regular LP output schedule in addition to keeping an active performance regime.
