Javier Ruibal

Javier Ruibal was born in Cádiz, Spain, in May 1955. As an artist, Rubial joyfully blends genres as a pastry chef would mix butter and sugar - with casual flair - because he stirs flamenco, sefardí and magrebí music together, as well as jazz, and rock, among other styles to create an extremely interesting style of music. Juxtaposed among this hodge podge of lyrics is a strong influence of Spanish poetry, most notably fused in Ruibal's debut album, titled Duna, which was released in 1983.
