The Hunchback of Notre Dame is an adaptation for stage of Victor Hugo's timeless classic novel of the same name, published in 1831. The story follows the deformed, hunchback bell-ringer Quasimodo who falls in love with the beautiful gypsy Esmeralda, and the troubles that meet them at every turn. Since the novel's publication, there have been countless adaptations made for a wide variety of media, and remains, to this day, one of the best loved and memorable literary works of the 19th Century.
