José Luis Figuereo, better known as El Barrio, was born in June 1970 in Santa María, Cádiz. El Barrio is a flamenco artist, and his songwriting fuses traditional and new styles. His song lyrics are filled with modern language but remain poetic. El Barrio released his debut album Yo Sueño Flamenco in 1996.
