Lukas Nelson and Promise of the Real is a rock and roll band from Venice Beach in Los Angeles. Formed in 2007, the band honed in on a distinct classic yet hard rock style before releasing its debut album Promise of the Real, in 2010, and touring extensively in support of the album. After dropping the band's sophomore effort Wasted, lead singer Luke Nelsen went on to sing and play guitar on Willie Nelson's 2012 album, Heroes. The full band also served as Neil Young's backing band on the studio album, The Monsanto Years, and toured with the legendary musician while also maintaining an ardent songwriting schedule.
