Len Cariou is an actor from Manitoba, Canada who is best-known for his role as Sweeney Todd in the original 1979 Broadway production of Sweeney Todd, the Demon Barber of Fleet Street. He made his Broadway debut in The House of Atreus, in 1968, and went on to receive widespread attention as the lead in Applause, a role that earned him a Tony Award for Best Actor in a Musical as well as the Theatre World Award. Cariou went on to star in various other musicals, including Sweeney Todd, the Demon Barber of Fleet Street, and has since appeared in various television spots and films, including Secret Window and the big screen adaptation of A Little Night Music.
