Lee Konitz is a jazz composer and alto saxophonist from Chicago. Generally considered one of the driving forces of the modern jazz scene, Konitz has also performed successfully in bebop and avant-garde settings. Konitz is one of the few altoists to retain the classic 1940s sound that's partially indebted to jazz icon Charlie Parker.
