Lee Ann Womack is a country singer/songwriter from Jacksonville, Texas who, in addition to being one of the most critically and commercially acclaimed singers in the genre, is perhaps best known for her signature old fashioned style of country music that explores the woman's perspective on cheating and lost love. Womack gained country music stardom in the late 1990s with the release of her second studio album Some Things I Know, which went on to earn the singer several awards. After riding the wave of her success into the 2000s with the release of her most popular crossover album I Hope You Dance, Lee Ann Womack went on a brief hiatus later in the decade, only to return to the studio better and stronger than ever in 2008.
