Written by Spike Manton and Tim Clue, Leaving Iowa is funny and heartwarming at the same time. This comedy play comes across as a tribute to the generally harrowing family vacation. The story follows Don Browning on a solo road trip, as he travels to Iowa to lay his father's ashes to rest. The audience follows Don into his reveries about his previous family vacations, through new discoveries, past inner turmoils and see him finally reconcile with himself. This family-friendly act first played at Jeff Daniels' Purple Rose Theater. The Detroit Free Press nominated it for 'The Best New Play.' Leaving Iowa has played at sold-out theaters across America and has been very well received.
