Showing an early passion for music, Kiko began his musical journey at the age of 12, initially experimenting with percussion instruments before transitioning to the guitar. His talent quickly became evident as he started performing publicly during his early teenage years. Forming a group called Los Modernos del Amargue in Canca Arriba, Kiko garnered attention from local record company Elvin Productions/Discomania, leading to the release of his debut album, "Kiko Rodriguez y los Claveles Mios." Singles like "El Verde de Tus Ojos" and "Ya Te Olvide" gained popularity on tropical radio stations, propelling Rodriguez into the spotlight both nationally and internationally. Subsequent albums like "Epidemia de Amor" and "Sentimientos y Mas" further solidified his place in the bachata scene, leading to invitations for international performances across the Caribbean, Europe, and the United States.
