One of the more celebrated works by Brazilian choreographer Deborah Colker, Cruel, looks at the relationship between beauty and pain. Oversized furniture, mirrors and edgy fashion play a central role in the staging of Cruel. Colker is also a choreographer for Circe du Soleil and one of the masterful minds behind the company's latest show Ovo. Regarding her style of choreography, Colker says, "My work is like Brazil, the mix of colors, dynamics and rhythms, the happiness and possibility of a long way of discovery."
