About

This perennial work by iconic American playwright Eugene O'Neill is considered by many to be his finest work. The four-act play explores themes of addiction and dysfunction in the Tyrone family over the course of one day in the family's seaside home in Connecticut. This virtuosic drama incises into the deep-seated family dynamics, thick with rage, secrecy, blame, denial and resentment. O'Neill was posthumously awarded the 1957 Pulitzer Prize for the play, often touted as his masterpiece. The play has been widely produced all over the world, also spawning several film adaptations, as O'Neill's darkly lucid world is explored time and time again for its subtle construction, vivid characterizations and masterful use of language.
