Therion is a Swedish death metal troupe that was formed in 1988. Over the years, the band has achieved a symbiosis of metal and classical music. Sophisticated arrangements inspired by Richard Wagner characterize this band's trademark sound. Therion's debut Of Darkness... was released in 1991. In addition to EPs, singles, and studio albums, the band has released a variety of live DVDs.
