Indiana State Sycamores

Indiana State University is a public university based out of Terre Haute, Indiana that was founded in 1865. The Sycamores are the athletic teams that compete for the university in the NCAA's Division I. During the athletic department's formative years, its teams were known as the "Fighting Teachers," but in 1954 the teams changed their names to the Sycamores, a nod to the abundance of sycamore trees in the Wabash River Valley where the university is located.
