I Puritani is an Italian opera by Vincezo Bellini with a libretto by Count Carlo Pepoli. Set in the 1640s during the English Civil War, the production follows the tale of two lovers who are torn apart by the conflict between the Puritans and the Royalists. Bellini's last opera and often considered one of the composer's greatest works, I Puritani was originally performed in 1833 and has since endured the modern theatrical landscape with its timeless tale of love.
