Howard Hewett is a Los Angeles-based singer/songwriter who might best be known as the former lead vocalist of the Grammy winning neo soul act Shalamar. Striking out on his own and releasing his debut album, I Commit to Love, in 1986, the LP's intelligent collection of jazz-influenced R&B tunes helped established Hewett as a formidable musical talent.
