About
Habib Koité is a singer/songwriter and guitarist from Thies, Senegal whose distinctive brand of West African music is decorated with elements of blues and flamenco. Known for his open tuning and relaxed, often moody vocals, he dropped his debut album Muso Ko, in 1995. As he continues to release solo material, he also operates as part of Bamada, a supergroup of West African musicians such as Kélétigui Diabaté, releasing albums like Brothers in Bamako, in 2012 to international attention.
