About
Bluegrass musician Vince Herman founded Great American Taxi aftter his band Leftover Salmon went on a hiaturs in 2005. Addressing themes of nuclear energy, mountaintop removal, economic conditions and war, Great American Taxi serves as a political platform for Herman. The band combines blues, country and folk music to create a brand of Americana music that is evident on its 2007 debut album, Streets of Gold. As one of the premier underground country acts, Great American Taxi released its third album Paradise Lost, in 2012 on its own label Great American Taxi Records.
