Also known as “Tigres, El Equipo Que Nació Campeón”, Tigres de Quintana Roo is a Triple-A MiLB team based in Quintana Roo, Mexico and plies its trade in the Zona Sur of the Mexican Baseball League. Founded in 1955 in Mexico City, it was formerly known as “Tigres Capitalinos” and “Tigres de la Angelópolis” till 2007 when it moved to Cancun, Quintana Roo. It is the second most successful team in the league with 12 League Championships and 18 Division Championships under its belt with notable players like Julio Franco and Karim Garcia having represented the team. With its home stadium being the Estadio de Béisbol Beto Ávila it shares a very competitive rivalry with Diablos Rojos del Mexico.
