When Geoff Tate was fired from Queensrÿche after three decades of fronting the band as lead vocalist, he formed his own carnation of the band and named it Geoff Tate and Members of Queensrÿche. With an ongoing lawsuit between Tate and the remaining member of his ex-band, a judge's ruling has allowed both parties to use the name Queensrÿche, though the original band has made several public statements urging him to stop using the name. Despite pressure from his old collaborators, Geoff Tate continues to play the progressive metal tunes he helped create with an all-star cast of supporting musicians.
