Garrick Ohlsson is a classical pianist from New York who stands as the first American pianist to win the world-renowned International Frédéric Chopin Piano Competition in 1970. Having followed up this substantial accomplishment with several more awards, such as taking first prize at the Busoni Competition and the Avery Fisher Prize, Ohlsson is now considered by many to be one of the greatest living concert pianists performing today. Although he is primarily known for his performances as a soloist, Garrick Ohlsson is also an avid and celebrated chamber musician, and often collaborates with some of the world's most renowned chamber ensembles.
