Formed in Texas in 1998, Fair to Midland was a five-piece progressive metal outfit. The group debuted in 2001 with its first full-length album entitled The Carbon Copy Silver Lining, which introduced listeners to its hard-edged blend of melodic hard rock vocals, metal riffs and progressive attributes. The band's tours through its illustrious career included a stop at the Coachella music festival in 2007. Fair to Midland's well-constructed mishmash of metal elements gave it a strong crossover appeal that keeps its music alive well-past the band's breakup.
