José Plácido Domingo Embil is a world recognized opera singer originally from Spain. In 1959, he celebrated his opera debut in Mexico City, the city in which he grew up. Less than a decade later in 1966, his international career took shape when he joined the New York City Opera. In addition to José Carreras and Luciano Pavarotti, he was a part of the opera trio The Three Tenors. Since then, Domingo has been on many renowned opera stages on the planet, including those in London, Buenos Aires, Berlin and Madrid.
