Edgar Meyer is a multi-instrumentalist and composer who plays various genres, including classical, bluegrass, newgrass and jazz. After getting his start as a session musician in Nashville, Tennessee, he released his debut solo album, Unfolding, in 1986. While he has maintained his solo career, he has also joined various groups and collaborated with other classical and folk musicians including Joshua Bell and Béla Fleck. Along with renowned cellist Yo-Yo Ma and folk musician Mark O'Connor, Meyer took home the Grammy Award for Best Classical Crossover Album for the 2000 collaborative effort, Appalachian Journey.
