Ed Gerhard

Ed Gerhard is an accomplished American guitarist, known for his mastery of acoustic fingerstyle guitar and lap steel guitar music. Born in Abington, Pennsylvania, he discovered his passion for the instrument at the age of fourteen, inspired by classical guitarist Andrés Segovia and folk guitarist John Fahey's open tunings. In 1987, Gerhard released his debut solo album, Night Birds, and later established Virtue Records as a platform for his instrumental acoustic guitar work. Notably, he received a Grammy Award for his contribution to the album Henry Mancini: Pink Guitar in 2004. In 2012, Gerhard released the album There and Gone after six years of dedicated effort.
