About

Dudu Fisher is a renowned Israeli cantor and performer, with his most notable role being as Jean Valjean in the musical Les Misérables on Broadway and London's West End. Fisher's cantorial career began after his service in the Yom Kippur War, and he held prestigious positions at various synagogues, including the Chief Cantor at the Hampton Synagogue and the New York Synagogue. Despite having no prior acting experience, Fisher's mesmerization with Les Misérables led him to request the leading role in a Hebrew production, and he went on to portray Jean Valjean in Israel, New York City's Broadway, and London's West End. His one-man show, Never on Friday, explores his experience on Broadway as an observant Jew. Fisher's musical talent has taken him on tours around the world, and he has performed with renowned orchestras and in special events, including singing for Pope Benedict XVI during his visit to Israel in 2009. Despite facing a stay of exit due to a bankruptcy proceeding, Fisher's reputation as a gifted performer remains unshaken.
