About
Don Burnham is a guitarist, vocalist, and bandleader known for his involvement with California's LOST WEEKEND Western Swing Band since 1985. Born in San Francisco, Burnham's passion for guitars and music led him to pursue a career in the music scene. After serving in the US ARMY/Korea, he worked at NBC in New York City before returning to California and immersing himself in the West Coast music scene. In the 1980s, Burnham combined his musical pursuits with work as a seasonal park ranger, developing his interpretative program, "Songs and Tales of California and the West." With a strong interest in swing music and traditional jazz, he formed the Western Swing band LOST WEEKEND in 1985 and later merged it with the New Century Jazz Band in 1991. LOST WEEKEND has become internationally recognized as a prominent contemporary Western Swing band, earning Burnham induction into the Western Swing Hall of Fame in 2005. Burnham is also a composer, and his original songs can be found on his album "I Dreamed Count Basie Was A Cowboy" released in 2009. Today, Burnham continues to perform with LOST WEEKEND Western Swing Band, as well as with THE BOLOS, and as a solo artist with his Martin guitar.
