About
Internation Teachers of Pop is a trio comprising Adrian Flanagan, Leonore Wheatley and Dean Honer, who met at an electronics workshop in Yorkshire in 2018. Their mutual respect for each other's work led to the talk of working together, which they did. The collaboration led to an invite to perform on Marc Riley's BBC 6 show. Requests for live shows with Jarvis Cocker and Roisin Murphy resulted in the trio working together on more projects, which included originals as well as covers of well-known songs. Not only was its work appreciated by the trio's inspirations but also by the distributor Republic of Music, who helped it set up its own record label, Desolate Spools. International Teachers of Pop released two singles in 2018 - "Age of the Train" and "After Dark." These songs were included on its eponymous 2019 album. The trio's most popular tracks include "The Ballad of Remedy Nilsson," "On Repeat" and "Don't Diss the Disco."
