Divinity is a Canadian heavy metal band hailing from Calgary, Alberta. Formed in 1997 by Sean Jenkins and James Duncan, the band draws inspiration from the lyrics of Pantera's song "Domination," which features the line "A now blacked heart is reaching out in divinity." Despite being currently unsigned to major labels, Divinity has previously been signed to Nuclear Blast and Candlelight. Their musical journey began with the release of their first EP in 2002, followed by their debut album, Allegory, in 2007. This album caught the attention of Nuclear Blast, leading to its reissue in 2008. The band continued their creative momentum with the release of their second album, The Singularity, in 2009, which was later reissued by Candlelight Records in 2010. Divinity's discography also includes a series of three EPs released between 2013 and 2017, which were eventually compiled into the album The Immortalist in 2017. With their unique blend of heavy metal, Divinity showcases their passion and commitment to the genre through their intense and captivating music.
