The Des Moines Buccaneers is a hockey team that competes in the United States Hockey League's Tier 1. The team was founded in 1980 and since its inception it has played all its home games at Buccaneer Arena in Urbandale, Iowa. Displaying an adept knack for winning games (taking home its first of several Anderson Cups in 1994), the Buccaneers has served as a platform for players to go on to play in the NCAA and eventually the NHL.
