About
1. FC Saarbrücken is a professional football club that competes in the Regionalliga Südwest. Founded in 1903, the club plays its home fixtures at the Hermann-Neuberger-Stadion. The club has a strong local history with 10 Saarland Cups to its name and was one of the inaugural teams to participate in the Bundesliga, the highest tier of club football in Germany. Despite its regional success, the team has not featured in the Bundesliga since 1993, however it has had a strong DFB-Pokal appearance and has become the first fourth-tier german football club to ever reach the DFB-Pokal Semi-finals.
