Dan Licoppe is a Canadian stand-up comedian. He is best known for creating and performing as the character Mel Silverback - a tuxedo-wearing comedic gorilla. In 2007, he took his beloved character to the fifth season of Last Comic Standing and made it to the semifinals. So popular was the character that Silverback was asked by the channel to perform on the show even after his elimination. His illustrious career boasts performances at prestigious events like the Alternative Stand Up Festival, Vancouver, Real Madness Comedy Festival, Toronto and more. He has also performed with Second City, and worked as a musician and an improv artist.
