Crack the Sky is a band from Weirton, West Virginia that creates a tasteful style of well-produced rock by combining jaunty rhythms and adept instrumentation with witty lyrics. The group's 1975 self-titled debut album was dubbed by Rolling Stone the "debut album of the year," and the magazine would go on to favorably compare Crack the Sky to Steely Dan. Though the group's popularity has subsided considerably since it's 1970s heyday, the band still keeps active with a regular album release cycle and busy touring regime.
